Luca Campanile (BusForFun.com) among the protagonists of the Data Management Summit Bilbao

We are revealing day by day all the professionals who will participate with their presentations at the most important event in Data Management. For the first time a forum tries to focus on Data Management in its entirety, from governance, through security, cloud, machine learning, data virtualization and much more.  Today we present Luca Campanile who will be among the protagonists of the Bilbao edition of the Data Management Summit to be held on October 25th and 26th in Bilbao.

Tell us a little about your background

I have been working in mobility sector since years. In 2015 Davide Buscato and I founded BusForFun: we noticed the lack of ad hoc transport system for events, in the beginning, and for companies, then. I have always tried to find the best solution starting from the demand.

Tell us about the challenges your company/institution faces in the world of data management.

The main challenges we are facing are related to Data Quality (maintaining data accuracy and consistency), Data Integration (a lot of data spread across different systems) and Data Lifecycle Management (from creation to enrichment and finally to archiving or deletion).

Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive data management strategy, including robust policies, technologies, and skilled personnel.

Do you think companies and institutions have the right culture to manage data?

We are witnessing a progressive digitalization, but companies need to be really qualified to manage data.

Unfortunately, many companies still do not understand the importance of data collection and analysis, others, do not know how to manage them.

What are the most important challenges for CIOs, CDOs and CTOs in 2024?

1. Cybersecurity and Data Privacy: Ensuring the security of an organization’s data and protecting against cyber threats is an ongoing challenge. The nature of cyber threats is continually evolving, and CIOs, CDOs and CTOs need to stay ahead of potential risks.

2.AI and Machine Learning Integration: The integration of AI and machine learning into business processes is becoming increasingly common and, in particular, generative AI is also available to non-technical people, increasing the pool of potential users. CTOs adn CDOs need to consider the ethical, legal and operational challenges associated with AI.

3.Environmental and Sustainability Concerns: The IT sector has a significant environmental impact. CIOs and CTOs may face increasing pressure to adopt green technologies and practices in order to meet ESG goals.

We will be lucky enough to enjoy your presentation… what are you going to talk about?

I will show you a presentation that represents our growth and mission to data management. We love to rely on real case studies, data collection and analysis. We will show you the importance of mobility not only for multinationals companies but also for mass events.

You accepted our invitation right away.
