We unveil day after day all those professionals who will participate with their presence within one of the most important event of the Data Management. For the first time, a forum tries to focus on data management in its entirety, from governance, through security, the cloud, automatic learning, data virtualization and much more. Today we introduce you Cesar Pecharroman from Jacob Holm Group that will be a facilitator of MDM: Key for Data Harmonization, scheduled for March 17th , 2021
Tell us a little about your professional career
We could say I am a data lover. Even at school times I was thinking of Data and how we could understand real live with Data. That is why I studied Statistics at the University, and from that moment on, I became a totally convinced Data Driven person.
Right after I finished at University, I started my first job as a Data Science, at a time, when almost none know what it was such activity. From there I was moving slightly to Datawarehousing and BI area. Lately I was more related to Master & Reference Data, and from there I have been moved to Governance mainly.
As I have been so lucky of being always related with so great colleagues and fantastic companies, and always in the IT/Data areas, I have been able to be in a very close relationship with any single aspect of Data.
Besides that, as I have had the chance to be working always in multinational companies, I always could enjoy of multicultural challenges embedded of different cultures and countries, what gave me, I would say, the 360º Data View, with those soft skills needed to complement the standard knowledge about.
What are your challenges, what do you like to do with the data?
Basically I have to clear objectives:
- The first one is to help my company increase benefits.
- The second one, to make the live easier to our internal/external customers, doing them the processes easier and smooth.
I know is not always an easy challenge, but we fight to get closer the goal.
Do you think that companies have the right culture to manage data in a different way?
I guess we have already progress a lot, but still we have a long journey to go through.
While there are companies that pay attention to set up fancy projects about fancy words like industry 4.0., Digitalization, Block Chain, … but do not pay attention to the data they have and if that is ready to go into such project, and C-Level are not pushing for it, we will have a lot to do.
What are the most important challenges for CIO, CDO, CDO, CTO in 2021?
Be capable to align customers demand, Board requirements and current Company capabilities in an organized manner. And all of that while we are living in a world dominated by Amazon, Google or Facebook, with several years and decades of Data Culture and no legacy to fight with.
What are you going to talk about in your speech at the Data Management Summit?
We are going to talk about how an MDM interconnectivity and Governance Platform may help a company, like it made to us, to standardize data across systems and remove silos.
You’ve supported the event from the beginning. Why did you do that?
I am so lucky since I know this event for long time ago, and I love the format. It has some great sections as the group Dynamics.
